Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
First, I want to say welcome to our new kindergarten students and any other new students to our district, I am so happy to have you with us! I also want to say welcome back to all of our returning students. I am the school counselor for our students in grades kindergarten through third grade and Mr. Brocious is the school counselor for our students in grades fourth through sixth. However, we are both happy to work with ALL students.
This will be my 9th year at Westmont Hilltop Elementary School. Prior to working for Westmont Hilltop, I was a school counselor for Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland for 4 years. I attended Chatham University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master of Education degree in School Counseling.
My goal is to support all students in the areas of academics, career and social/emotional. I provide bi-monthly classroom guidance lessons to kindergarten through third grade students. We utilize the Character Strong curriculum to deliver these lessons. I also provide Tier II and Tier III behavior and social emotional interventions. These interventions can include brief individual counseling sessions as well as small group skill building among other interventions. I participate on many teams within the building that assists students and families with removing barriers to learning. If you believe that your student could benefit from additional supports, you may fill out a SAP referral.
