Olweus Bullying Prevention Program Student Survey

Parents and Guardians,

As part of our commitment to providing each student with an exceptional educational experience in a safe learning environment, the school district has adopted the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. This comprehensive program, which includes schoolwide, classroom, individual, and community components, is designed to foster long-term changes and create a safe and positive school climate. The Olweus Program will supplement existing programs at our Elementary and Junior-Senior High Schools, such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Character Strong, Botvin's Life Skills Program, the Student Assistance Program (SAP), and the student discipline policy.

As part of our implementation efforts, we will ask students in grades 3-12 to complete an anonymous survey on Friday, December 13, 2024. This survey, which is designed to gather students' perceptions of the school and identify growth opportunities, will be conducted with the utmost confidentiality.  Please note that parents may opt their child(ren) out of the survey if they wish. If you would like to do so, please contact the main office at 814-255-8707 for the Elementary School or 814-255-8726 for the Junior-Senior High School.

Your involvement is crucial to our collective efforts to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.  We encourage you to engage in open conversations with your child about their school experience and to share any concerns with the appropriate school personnel. Your insights are invaluable; we are here to support you and your child.

Sincerely,

Tom
