Summer reading for the 2020-2021 school year will have two different options for students to receive summer reading credit. One option is attending a one hour zoom session where students will be placed into groups based on the book they chose and have a virtual literature circle. A teacher will be placed with each group to act as a facilitator. Students will be required to prepare three discussion questions and choose two quotes or passages from their book prior to the zoom meeting in order to fulfill the requirements. These questions and passages will be submitted during the zoom meeting. The dates for the zoom sessions are August 11th at 1 p.m. and August 13th at 6 p.m. Please fill out the google form prior to August 8th if you wish to participate in a zoom session. https://forms.gle/PRWBSf2KxByYefQ4A
The second option will be for students who are unable to attend the zoom meetings. Students will complete a worksheet on the book they chose to read and turn it in to their English teacher during the first week of school. The entire worksheet must be completed according to the directions to receive the summer reading credit. The worksheet can be downloaded from the district website, or it can be picked up at the high school office.
